About United 93
It is a story that needs no introduction. On September 11, 2001, Al-Qaeda terrorists boarded four planes with the sole intention of causing widespread destruction. Two planes crashed into the World Trade Center and a third into the Pentagon, killing thousands. The fourth was United Airways Flight 93 from Newark to San Francisco and filmmaker Paul Greengrass attempts to present the story of what happened when passengers on board attempted to take back control from four hijackers - losing their own lives but saving many others. Painstakingly recreated based on interviews with those involved on the ground and genuine phone calls made from the plane, the result is a deeply upsetting but brilliant account of a key moment in world history. Made with the full support the of passengers' families, United 93 is a must-see film.
