About The Sea Inside (Mar Adentro)

Spanish film that tells the true story of Ramon Sampedro (Javier Bardem) a quadriplegic who fought a 30 year battle to win the right to die. Confined to his bed Ramon is haunted by visions of his past, before the diving accident in which he broke his neck 25 years earlier. This convincing and tender piece of cinema from Alejandro Amenabar (The Others and Open Your Eyes) focuses on the relationships between Ramon and the women around him, Rosa (Lola Duenasn) a single mother who dotes on him and tries to persuade him life is worth living, Julia (Belen Rueda) a beautiful lawyer fighting for his right to die and Manuela Sampedro (Mabel Rivera) his sister-in-law.
