An Indonesian martial arts marathon filled with relentless violence and waves of criminals meeting their maker, like a movie length version of the hammer fight in Old Boy. On a do-or-die mission, an elite special forces team must take out a drug lord and his minions. The bad guys are holed up on the top floor of a huge crumbling tower block, and when the team is subject to a surprise attack it's up to rookie Rama (Iko Uwais) to lead the charge. From an ingeniously simple concept, writer/director/editor Gareth Evans has created a dazzling display of authentic and inventive fights as the cops battle for survival. As with the best video-games, there's a variety of weapons used including machetes, axes and the walls themselves.
