About Sound Of My Voice

A creepy thriller about an enigmatic cult leader who may be a time traveller. Schoolteacher Peter (Christopher Denham) and his girlfriend Lorna (Nicole Vicius) are a documentary filmmaking team who become interested in the story of a cult in Southern California. They decide to go undercover and investigate. After being blindfolded, they are taken to a secret location and given new clothes. Then they meet Maggie (Brit Marling), a calm, self-possessed blonde who claims that she is from the year 2054. Peter and Lorna are sceptical at first, but aren't immune to the comforts provided by Maggie's soft yet commanding voice. Peter grows more nervous as he realises they are being drawn deeper into the fold, and tries to resist his attraction to Maggie. When she asks him to bring her one of his pupils he wonders what she is capable of – and whether he and Lorna will survive the investigation.
