About Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World

Dodge (Steve Carell) and Penny (Keira Knightley) are two ordinary people in an extraordinary situation. An asteroid is about to hit Earth and the end of all human life is near. It seems as though everyone has completely lost the plot apart from Dodge, an insurance salesman. He continues to go into the office and isn't interested in indulging his wildest desires, while his friends snort cocaine and give booze to young children. Even his wife leaving him elicits little response. Amidst the madness, his lively bohemian neighbour Penny forgets to pass on a letter. Realising later that it was from an old girlfriend of Dodge's, she decides to help him find her, and Dodge pledges to get her back to her family in England.
