About Salmon Fishing In The Yemen

A romcom from the director of 'Chocolat'. Fred Jones (Ewan McGregor) is Britain's leading fisheries expert. His boring, unsatisfying existence is disturbed when he is contacted about bringing salmon to the Middle East. Harriet Chetwode-Talbot (Emily Blunt) thinks he can help fulfil her client's dream of introducing his wealthy friends to the sport of fly-fishing in the Yemen. Fred is extremely sceptical about the prospect of transporting 10,000 salmon thousands of miles when in all probability they'll die when the dry season comes. But he is signed up for the job by the Prime Minister's press secretary (Kristin Scott Thomas) who is looking for a positive news story to distract from problems with Afghanistan. Both Fred and Harriet have partners but when they meet to discuss the impossible job they ignite a spark that might help them complete their task.
