About Robot & Frank

A drama set in the near future about an old man and his robot. Frank is a retired burglar living out his last quiet days. His daughter (Liv Tyler) Skypes him occasionally from Turkmenistan, while his son (James Marsden) finds it increasingly difficult to make the ten-hour round trip to see him each week. Frank has some companionship in his local library and its friendly librarian (Susan Sarandon), but is saddened that he may be robbed of this social contact by plans to automate and digitise the booklending process. When he is given a robot (voiced by Peter Sarsgaard) to help with his household chores and provide conversation, he is resentful. But then he realises that the robot has no moral compass and hatches a plan to steal a valuable book.
