About Red Tails

Based on the true story of the Tuskegee airmen, who were an African American group of pilots in the U.S Air Force during World War II. After enduring racism throughout their recruitment process, the airmen are disappointed that when they do get to fight, they're firing on buildings rather than German planes. However, they manage to impress their superiors and white colleagues with their successful missions. Eventually they are chosen to be used as bomber escorts: their leader Col. Bullard (Terence Howard) accepts the job only if his men are given new aircraft. Within the group, best friends Joe "Lightning" Little (David Oyelowo) and Martin "Easy" Julian (Nate Parker) battle with alcoholism and self-doubt, while youngster Ray Gannon (Tristan Wilds) just wants to prove himself.
