About No Country For Old Men

If you haven't heard about the talent that is the Coen Brothers, it's about time you moved out from under that rock and did some exploring. The masterminds that brought us The Big Lebowski and O Brother, Where Art Thou? step into the limelight once again with their first credit as co-directors, in No Country For Old Men, drawn from a novel by Cormac McCarthy. Hunter Llewellyn Moss (Josh Brolin) stumbles upon a deal gone bad in the Arizona desert, where he discovers a truck full of heroin and two million dollars. Moss scopes the place out to see who's looking before fleeing with the treasure. Meanwhile, merciless killer Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem), is on the hunt for the drugs, the money and the moron who took them. Local sheriff Ed Tom Bell (Tommy Lee Jones) completes the triangle of greed, justice and revenge. Albeit a more serious affair than most Coen Brothers' offerings, the film is still sprinkled with their trademark humour, and the characters are just as compelling. A must see for all Coen fans and film buffs alike.
