About Magic Mike

A film about the lives of male strippers based on the experiences of 'Dear John' and '21 Jump Street' star Channing Tatum. I could tell you that he plays Mike, a seasoned stripper who takes new boy Adam (Alex Pettyfer) under his wing at the Xquisite All Male Revue. I could tell you that Adam is an aimless youth who easily becomes enamoured of the more hedonistic side of the job, while Mike tries to set him on a safer path. I could tell you that Mike himself wants out of the game, so that he can start his own custom furniture-making business. But it would be a disservice not to emphasise the film's true USP for the audience: Tatum, Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey and Joe Manganiello (that werewolf from True Blood) oiled up and dancing around in thongs.
