Film followers amongst you may remember the shock at Cannes when this Gaspar Noe film was screened, causing a number of walkouts in the audience. Now passed uncut by the BBFC, this tale of revenge told in reverse narrative (a la Memento) is on general release. There's no doubting the impact of the intensely unpleasant and upsetting nine minute rape scene, which will raise the hackles of the censorship lobby. Or the sickening violence in other scenes. Yet this is still an intense, affecting thriller for any who dare risk it. Just be prepared.
