About Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close

A drama with a heavyweight cast based on the novel by Jonathan Safran Foer. Oskar Schell (Thomas Horn) is an imaginative, inquisitive eleven-year-old living in New York. He enjoys speaking French and going on treasure hunts. In 2001, his father (Tom Hanks) dies in the September 11th terrorist attacks. Heartbroken and reeling from a tragedy of such enormous proportions, Oskar becomes secretive and resentful of his mother (Sandra Bullock). When he discovers a key in his father's cupboard he decides to find out what it's for, believing that his father has left one final puzzle to be solved. He is aided by his mysterious mute neighbour (Max Von Sydow) and a friendly doorman. The quest will take him all over New York as he works through his grief by trying to solve the mystery.
