About Even The Rain (También La Lluvia)

A film about a production crew trying to make a film in Bolivia amidst political turmoil. The producer Costa (Luis Tosar) is happy to exploit locals as low paid workers on the film, while the idealistic director Sebastian (Gael Garcia Bernal) feels vaguely uneasy. When a local man named Daniel (Juan Carlos Aduviri) causes a scene at being turned away for an audition, Sebastian is drawn to his fighting spirit and gives him a role. In his real life Daniel is leading a revolt against the government. A California company has bought land rights in the area and plans to charge the people for using their own water, causing riots. The conflict forces Costa and Sebastian to reconsider their values.
