About Dolphin Tale
An uplifting family film in the vein of Flipper, based on a true story. A young dolphin severely damages her tail when she is caught in a crab trap. She is rescued and taken to Clearwater Marine Hospital, where the staff name her Winter. Dr. Ken McCarthy (Morgan Freeman) is given the task of creating Winter a new prosthetic tail, as without one she will not be able to survive in the wild. He is helped by Dr. Clay Haskett (Harry Connick Jr.). The young boy (Nathan Gamble) who rescued Winter feels a special bond with her, and she helps him to interact with a world he had previously withdrawn from. Everyone works together to help Winter recover and she proves that anyone, able-bodied or otherwise, can be an inspiration. This also stars Kris Kristofferson and Ashley Judd.
