About Casa De Mi Padre

A spoof of Mexican westerns and telenovelas, starring the decidedly non-Mexican Will Ferrell. He plays Armando Alvarez, an earnest but dim-witted man (a classic Ferrell role) who has lived and worked on his father's ranch his whole life. So he is distraught when he realises that the business is having financial difficulties. His younger brother Raul (Diego Luna) comes to visit with his fiancée Sonia (Genesis Rodriguez) in tow and promises to help solve the problems at the ranch. But when Armando begins to have feelings for the beautiful Sonia, and Raul's business dealings turn out to be illegal, things become complicated. The brothers also become involved in a war with Mexico's most dangerous drug lord La Onza (Gael Garcia Bernal). Cue continuity errors, over-acting and slow-motion shoot-outs at weddings.
