Bruce Willis goes to Moscow and makes it explode. He's back once again like a renegade master as grumpy, reluctant action hero John McClane who dislikes getting involved in international terrorism but has a knack for taking down the bad guys. Setting foot on foreign soil for the first time, John has come to Russia to help his troublemaker of a son Jack (Jai Courtney) who has been arrested. Having always been annoyed by his son's antics John is shocked to discover that Jack is actually an undercover CIA operative. While more of a chip off the old block than either realised, Jack still manages to irritate his father with his new-fangled methods. But when the pair discover that Jack's arrest is part of a dastardly plan they must put their differences aside to save the world.
