The Holyhead Maritime Heritage & Leisure Festival is a fantastic occasion that takes place annually, on the last full weekend in July, located around Newry Beach in Holyhead, Anglesey, giving locals and visitors a chance to enjoy top class entertainment over the weekend.
This year's festival is a three day event, letting you relax and enjoy the summer, with comedy, music, singing, dancing, majorettes, stalls, displays and much more.
Attractions include a range of maritime events, with Hearts of Oak Naval Re-enactment Society, a breakwater race and a rescue display demonstration by the Holyhead Coastguard and RNLI.
There will be a fun fair, strong man competition, parade of festival queens, two majorette competitions (Sat & Sun), LL65 Live Music Festival and plenty of other activities to see and do…..new for 2014 are a dog show on Sunday, a scuba taster session in a large tank Sat & Sun, Falconry display on the promenade plus lots more.
Friday night sees Holyhead Round Table present a cabaret Night headlined by Drifters tribute act, plus Wayne Roberts (comedy vocalist) and supporting acts at the Newry Beach marquee from 7pm on July 25th.
On Saturday night, the festival has a great night planned with Muse Inc tribute act, again supported by other local acts.
Sunday night sees a “West End” style show in the marquee. It promises to be a great evening of singing and dancing, performed by some accomplished stars of the future from all over Anglesey and North Wales.
Tickets for the Saturday Music Night will be available from Rozzys Rock Shop, Mon CF OFFICES, Holyhead Town Hall and Jim Lee for £8.00 in advance. £10.00 on the door. Please note that tickets are limited.
