Who needs Glastonbury when Yorkshire's got Galtres?
Now nine years old, Galtres Parklands Festival is one of the best family festivals in the country. Combining seven stages of music and cabaret, more than 100 fine beers and ciders all from Yorkshire (from Black Sheep Ale to Ampleforth Abbey Cider), excellent local produce catering (from Whitby Scampi to Yorkshire Puds), loads for kids to do from film making to music workshops, and all set in a beautiful rural setting overlooking the North York Moors.
Music ranges from top chart-topping bands to local emerging talent, ranging from pop and acoustic to jazz, blues and ska. Comedy, theatre and offbeat performances at the night cabaret, films, family camping and clean loos too!
One of the best weekends of the year, and one of the best-priced too with adult weekend tickets just £95. It's organic, fair trade and green, and all proceeds go to charity. Don't miss it! See www.galtresfestival.org.uk for more details.
