Blood Wedding
Federico Garcia Lorca's fine classic play of 1933 evokes the heat of Spain where a young bride-to-be's family are unaware of the emotions lurking beneath the ties of family and duty.
Conceived as part of a "Trilogy of Spanish Earth" alongside Yerma and a third play never written before his untimely death, Blood Wedding uses music, song and dance as an intrinsic part of the story.
Its poetic ritual conjures the tragedy of one woman trapped by both expectation and desire.
Performed by third-year Acting students.
Contains scenes of adult content.
