Jennifer Hollingdale – Re-make, Re-use, Through Stitch And Print
Jennifer originally studied Fine Art and Mathematics and began using fabric and stitch in the 1980s. In this collection of work she is examining the old fashioned virtues of thrift and domestic economy.
Old materials with all their associations of long usage, often decayed or damaged are re-formed into something new with a contemporary reference. Included are household linens, bedding, wallpaper, sections of clothes, labels, packaging, and sewing notions.
She also displays a series of stitched prints, assemblages, and a free standing screen using postcards and vintage furnishing fabrics.
