Erskine Stewart's Melville Schools

Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools return to the Usher Hall to present music on a grand scale. The Messa da Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi was composed in memory of Alessandro Manzoni, an Italian poet and novelist much admired by Verdi.

A combined choir of more than 400 young voices, the Community Choir and a professional orchestra come together to perform Verdi's masterpiece, the Requiem together with four soloists drawn from Scottish Opera, English National Opera, and Ireland's Opera Theatre Company.
