When Bedrich Smetana wrote Má vlast (My Country), he didn’t only create a hymn to a great nation – he stretched the very limits of what music could achieve. So he’d have been thrilled by tonight’s performance, in which his music is accompanied by stunning, specially-commissioned visuals by the artist James Westwater. Join Peter Oundjian and the RSNO on their journey down the River Vltava; and let Westwater’s images and Smetana’s music bring this tale of love, war and liberation unforgettably to life.
