SJ Peploe and Kirkcudbright
The Scottish Colourist SJ Peploe first visited Kirkcudbright in 1915 to see EA Taylor and Jessie M King with whom he had become friends in Paris before the First World War. Rachel Smith, Doughty Hanson Assistant Curator, will examine Peploe’s place within the celebrated artists’ colony in the South West of Scotland.
