Ryan Quigley Quintet, Clarence Penn

Ryan Quigley is one of Europe's most exciting trumpet players, having starred with Holland's prestigious Metronome Orkest as well as maverick horn quartet Brass Jaw and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and toured with Robbie Williams and George Michael.

Here he fronts a killer band driven by New York drummer Clarence Penn (as heard with Wynton Marsalis, Stanley Clarke, Steps Ahead, Betty Carter and Grammy winning vocalist Luciana Souza) and featuring saxophonist Paul Booth (Steve Winwood Band), pianist Steve Hamilton (Billy Cobham Band, Bill Brudford's Earthworks) and bassist Michael Janisch (Lee Konitz, Jim Hart). As they prepare to record a new album for Whirlwind Recordings, sparks will fly.
