The Comedy Gala 2012 in aid of Waverley Care will feature the cream of the comedy crop at this year’s Fringe and, as with previous years will also be recorded for television, meaning that even if you can’t make it to the Festival you won’t be missing out on all of the fun.
Set to be the Festival’s biggest comedy event this August, the Edinburgh Comedy Gala will showcase some of the finest comedic talent at the Fringe in aid of Waverley Care, Scotland’s largest charity providing care and support to people living with HIV and Hepatitis C.
With some very exciting big names already signed up to take part in this year’s show plus more to be
announced, Comedy Gala 2012 In Aid of Waverley Care promises to be the highlight of any comedy fan’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival Diary.
Neil Delamere
Neil Delamere is one of the most in-demand comedians on Irish television, and well on track to repeat his success here in the UK. He is best known to UK audiences for a storming appearance on the first series of Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow on BBC1, and has also appeared on The World Stand Ups and Live At The Comedy Store, both on Comedy Central. Neil is one of a handful of performers to consistently receive five star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe year-after-year. For his 2009 Edinburgh show, 'Creme Delamere', he won five star rave reviews from the likes of Chortle, the Scotsman, the Herald and Three Weeks Magazine. He has also released two platinum-selling DVDs and has performed all over the world, including at the prestigious Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the New Zealand Comedy Festival.

Paul Chowdhry
One of the most talented and popular comedians to have recently emerged, Paul is inspired by comedians such as Richard Prior, George Carlin and Sam Kinison. Constantly challenging and relentlessly inventive, his comedy fuels an eclectic set punctuated by impressive feats of mimicry and verbal dexterity. Paul's highly charged dry observational humour taps into the multicultural diversity of contemporary Britain. 'One of the finest Asian comics around... Shappi Khorsandi
An Iranian female stand-up comic who has established herself on the London circuit. A finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards 2000 and second place winner of the Hackney Empire New Act 2000. As seen as on Live At The Apollo, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, 8/10 Cats and Have I Got News For You. One of the hottest comedy prospects in the country, Shappi is feisty, flirty and effortlessly funny handling every subject with razor sharp wit. Simon Evans
One of the most exciting and distinctive talents to emerge on the comedy circuit in recent years. He is a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4 as a regular on The News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth and Armando Iannucci's Charm Offensive. 'Absolutely brilliant' according to Caroline Aherne, and he has justified the tag, regularly selling out his shows in Edinburgh and racking up the television and radio credits. Plus, he dresses smartly and uses no bad language whatsoever...!
