Computer Aware

Chris Leach, a multimedia producer and computer professional will be giving another free computer awareness talk. After presenting his talk to a packed out audience last year, Chris is back to share his expert tips and tricks to keep you and your PC desktop and laptop safe and sound.

This year he's keen to share new insights into the modern operating systems such as Windows 8 and to dispel some myths about the old ones.

Chris states that 'people of all ages are scared of their computers - of what can go wrong, and how easily they can be exploited by unseen unscrupulous characters'. He intends to put minds at rest, demonstrate the dangers of the internet and highlight some big money-saving tips by using the internet wisely. He will also advise the hard of hearing on how to increase their enjoyment of music on their pc by using existing software.

Chris is keen to unravel the perceived complexities of the home computer especially for the generation that have not grown-up exposed to them; to allow everybody to benefit from modern technology instead of avoiding it.

His talk will include a free crib sheet. This talk is free to attend, starts at
2pm and runs with question and answer session for up to 75 minutes. Teas, coffees and cakes are available in the UGT coffee shop.
