Military Wives Choir Shoncliffe, Swingtime Sweethearts

Military Wives Choir of Shorncliffe perform at Eastbourne Bandstand for the first time with special guests, the Swingtime Sweethearts.

The Military Wives Choir story is familiar to almost everyone, following the BBC Documentary series hosted by Choir master Gareth Malone in 2011. Choirs began to pop up all over the country, and as a consequence, on Thursday April 19 2012, the Shorncliffe branch of the Military Wives Choir was formed. Dyane - a former member of the Salisbury Plain Choir MWC, had recently returned to her hometown of Folkestone, as her husband's long term in military service drew to a close. After discovering there wasn't yet a choir for her to attend in Folkestone.

What began with only a handful of hopeful, enthusiastic women, has flourished into a present membership of 45 fabulous performers in three singing sections.
