Michael Marra
Michael Marra produces a combination of humourous and thought-provoking lyrics which are soaked in the Dundee vernacular, while his Woodbined voice filters through a gauze of ragtime blues piano. Considered as a Scottish Dylan, with hints of Tom Waits and Randy Newman, Mr Marra is one-of-a-kind, combining tales of historic and everyday Scotland with a rolling, syncopated piano style, dressing Dundonian stories in a New Orleans swagger.
