Comprising four fabulous players of violins, guitar, accordion, double bass, saz and balalaika, the BCO play powerful and driving folk-based music inspired by the music of European gypsies.
Evoking vivid images of fiddle maestros, Budapest café life and gypsy campfires, the richness and dynamism of Balkan music is on display here from impassioned Hungarian Czardas and tender Russian folk melodies to rollicking Moldavian dances and bittersweet Jewish laments.
