About this event
In 1921, under sufferance from his friend and leader Eamon de Valera, Michael Collins travelled to London as part of the Irish delegation to meet with their British counterparts, including Winston Churchill, and negotiate the Anglo-Irish Treaty ending the Irish War of Independence. Yet, at a point when the Treaty talks seemed to be in stasis, Churchill and Collins spent a night drinking together, talking, arguing, even singing and reciting poetry, emerging from this session fascinated by each other.
