Art Digital Commission And Residency

This new commission and residency will be focussed on interpreting in a creative way the vast range of statistics and data that will come out of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, with a particular focus on the crowd and the players. The selected artist will be in residence within QUAD’s dedicated Artist Studio for one to two days a week during the 2014 World Cup.

The brief will be for the artist to select, interpret and publish public domain data from the World Cup (such as crowd attendances, team statistics, tables, goals scored, etc) and produce a unique digital based artistic response that will be fed to a screen in QUAD Gallery during the exhibition. At the culmination of the residency the artist will present an artwork that will encapsulate the data that has been collected, which will be featured on the screen in the gallery.
