Introduction To The Cimbalom Open Workshop : Ed Cervenka
An open workshop to learn about this unusual instrument from leading cimbalom player, Ed Cervenka.
Ed will talk about the cimbalom's origins and history, and demonstrate the techniques for playing. The workshop is suitable for everyone interested in music, and offers a rare opportunity for a close look at an instrument much favoured by Hungarian composers – in particular Kodaly whose Hary Janos Suite will be played in the concert later the same evening, with Ed as cimbalom soloist.
Free admission for school age children.
