6 Degrees Below The Horizon: Imitating The Dog Theatre Company
In that strange meeting place between film and theatre, which has become the hallmark of their work, Imitating the Dog Theatre create a fabulous fable before our eyes as a man on his deathbed attempts to explain to his daughter why he abandoned her as a young child.
Drawing on the works of Genet, Wedekind, Brecht and the photography of Pierre et Gilles 6 Degrees Below the Horizon takes its audiences on a delightful and twisted voyage into a subterranean world in which doing the right thing is seen to have terrible consequences.
6 Degrees Below The Horizon originated from work done on Tales from the Bar of Lost Souls which was made in collaboration with The National Theatre of Greece and Cyprus Theatre Organisation as part of the British Council Creative Collaboration programme.
The production is directed and written by Andrew Quick and Pete Brooks (Kellerman) and designed by Laura Hopkins (The award winning Black Watch, National Theatre of Scotland)
Performers: Laura Atherton, Nicholas Cass-Beggs, Fleur Huygues-Despointes, Morven Macbeth, Jonnie Moran, Adam Nash, Matt Prendergast, Ian Ryan and Anna Wilson-Hall
Imitating The Dog Theatre Company
Winners of the 1999 National Student Drama Festival.
