Die Fledermaus (The Bat) by Johann Strauss II
Johann Strauss's most celebrated and dazzling operetta, sung in English with orchestra. Take a husband and wife, cheeky maid, her sister the dancer, a hapless lawyer, a prison governor, an amourous opera singer and an eccentric Russian Prince. Mix in a helping of fancy dress, mistaken and harmless indiscretion, and add LOTS of champagne!
An evening of hilarious comedy and musical panache, suitable for those new to opera and those for whom this is a much-loved classic.
