International superstar Sir Tom Jones will perform at Chesterfield’s showpiece Proact Stadium.
The multi-million selling artist, known as Jones the Voice, will be swapping The Green Green Grass of Home for the green green grass of Chesterfield Football Club’s base on Saturday, June 7th 2014.
Club chairman Dave Allen said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have secured the booking of the one and only Tom Jones. Yes, we’ve finally pulled it off!.. He is without doubt one of the world’s best acts. For over five decades he’s been at the very top of the tree, playing to packed audiences all over the world.”
Best known for hits such as It’s Not Unusual, Kiss, Delilah and What’s New Pussycat, Tom was knighted in 2006. He has reached out to a new generation of fans through his coaching on BBC 1’s talent show The Voice which starts a new series this month.
