Academy Of St. Martin In The Fields: Joshua Bell
Twenty-one year old Joshua Bell made his first concerto disc in 1988 with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields under its founder, Sir Neville Marriner. Now, twenty-four years later, he's back again as their new music director in music ranging from the young Beethoven's defiant First Symphony through to the northern landscapes of Mendelssohn's Scottish Symphony and the folk-influenced Scottish Fantasy by Bruch.
Joshua Bell
Joshua Bell is a classically trained, world-renowned violinist. He has performed with all the world's major orchestras and conductors and won a Grammy for a violin concerto written especially for him by Nicholas Maw. Bell puts a new take on all the pieces he performs, and his charisma and enthusiasm add a new dimension to his performances.
