Formed when singer Doran Edwards and drummer Craig Bowers met whilst working in a vintage clothes shop, where talk frequently turned to 50s pop, 60s girl groups, David Lynch movies, and The Beach Boys. It wasn't long before guitarist James, and bassist Hugo were recruited.

Empty Pools formed in the halcyon days of fading summer 2011.
They artfully combine elements of noise-rock with teen-dream melodies, late 70s CBGBs angularity and the jazzy world-pop sophistication of the Sea and Cake and the Thrill Jockey set.
