Mozart's exquisitely beautiful Concerto for Flute & Harp and Haydn's witty and innovative Symphony no. 45 'Farewell', are at the heart of this programme. The Russian composer Alfred Schnittke's Moz-Art à la Haydn is a short, tongue-in-cheek, theatrical commentary on the music
of Mozart and Haydn. Ralph Vaughan Williams' unmistakably English setting of the folksong Greensleeves completes the programme.
