Count Magnus - Two Ghost Stories By MR James: Robert Lloyd Parry, Nunkie Theatre Company

At first they hear nothing at all. Then they hear someone – you know how far away it is – they hear someone scream, just as if the most inside part of his soul was twisted out of him.

Over 150 years since his birth, the ghost stories of MR James thrill, amuse and terrify as powerfully today as they ever did. Nunkie Theatre Company brings two more of his stories to life in a thrilling new one-man show, performed by Robert Lloyd Parry.

In the first of these stories, Count Magnus, a travel-writer's over-inquisitiveness leads to a breathless, diabolical chase from darkest Sweden to rural Essex. Denmark is then the setting for Number 13, where a hotel room with the famously unlucky number conceals a ghastly and baffling secret.
