The BPO continues its series of Brahms Symphonies with the vast canvas of the composer's triumphant First. This strident work is preceded by Weber’s rarely performed and – in this year of royal celebration – suitably patriotic Jubilee Overture (1818); and Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto, directed here from the keyboard by guest conductor/soloist Howard Shelley.
