The Southdowns Folk Festival offers a superb range of great music, dance, workshops, sessions and many other attractions in The Regis Centre & beautiful Hotham Park plus other venues around the seaside town of Bognor Regis.
Show Of Hands
Steve Knightley and Phil Beer are widely acknowledged as the finest acoustic roots duo in England. Knightley, who writes most of their inspired material and Beer, a dazzling multi instrumentalist, have built up a huge following which has seen them sell out the Albert Hall three times and headline at major festivals from Glastonbury to WOMAD. Voted Best Duo in the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards ( as well as clinching Best Original Song for Knightley's acclaimed Arrogance Ignorance and Greed) the jury is still out on just what kind of music they play. A genre defying mix of rock, roots, blues, country, trad, and often influenced by the music of other countries, it is played out on an array of instruments from slide guitar to fiddle, mandolin to South American cuatro. 'Formidable operators in the roots arena. A class act' (The Independent). They will bring out their first studio album in three years, 'Wake the Union', in Autumn 2012.

Richard Digance
Richard Digance has supported such stars as Steve Martin, Robin Williams and played a guitar duet with Brian May of Queen. He is also a BAFTA nominated entertainer and received The Gold Award from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters in 2003 and is featured in The Virgin Anthology of Songwriters. It's on stage Richard is most comfortable, giving two hours of original material with just a guitar, no support acts, no gimmicks, just one man with a treasure chest of stories collected over 40 years in the music and entertainment industry.

ColvinQuarmby
Talented singer/songwriter led group featuring Gerry Colvin and Nick Quarmby. They have been part of the professional circuit for a number of years and their achingly beautiful ballads, catchy choruses and energetic beats always captivate their audiences. Playing “refreshingly different acoustic music”, it's a potent mix of driving rhythm laced with liberal helpings of folk, country and skiffle, with an intelligent use of the pop sensibility, topped off with irresistible harmonies and lyrics of pure poetry and subtle wit. Growing favourites on the Folk/Acoustic circuit, the live show is spontaneous – unpredictable, often hilarious and always hugely entertaining.

"A force in the folk revival" - The Observer. "Stu Hanna and Debbie Hanna-Palmer, better known as Megson, have steadily established their reputation as two freshest, most original performers in the latest folk revival, and this album places them in the major league.
