About this event
An all-day good vibes music festival featuring Scroobius Pip, Reggae legends Musical Youth and former Inspiral Carpets frontman Tom Hingley with a full band.
During the day, musicians from the Blackburn based DIY record label - Acid City Records - will play live sets. There will be a bar and BBQ all day and the Block Party will be hosted on the outdoor stage at Warehouse One in Blackburn.
The proceeds from the event will go towards funding further recordings from the Acid City Records collective - all of their releases are made available for free download online.

Scroobius Pip
Best known as one half of unlikely chart bothering duo dan le sac Vs Scroobius Pip, Scroobius Pip is a leading light and unmistakable face of the UK's spoken word scene. Having jacked in the role of punk-bass-player for a marginally more stable career in poetry, Scroobius Pip has been proffering his everyman polemics since the mid-2000s. Performing on street corners or spoken word stages, for queueing gig goers or reverential Jazz audiences, Pip became synonymous with a burgeoning post-millennial scene, bringing an unfailing wit and disarming stage persona to the uncomfortable truths of the day

The Midlands based pop outfit who burst onto the scene with Pass The Duchie which was a hit in 1982. Other hits followed such as Youth Of Today, Never Gonna Give You Up and the massive hit with Donna Summer - Unconditional Love.

Tom Hingley
He moved to the North West in the mid-eighties from his Oxford home and in 1989 he became the vocalist for Inspiral Carpets. The band went on to have eleven top forty singles between 1990 and their initial split in 1995.
Tom's charm and charisma remain, and his extraordinary vocal range is as accurate and powerful as ever, incorporating soul, r'n'b and jazz.
