The Habsburgs – How To Paint
The Habsburgs are artists Craig Barber and Andrew Spackman. The Habsburgs are interested in creating art that avoids categorisation and is deliberately awkward.
How To Paint is a video and sound artwork that is presented in the Terrace Gallery, and is a playful critique of painting. The work draws upon formal painting language but applies these protocols through the use of time, colour, sound and composition. The work also considers the act of painting, how we learn, the hobbyist and mastery.
