Country Boy: A Bluegrass Tribute to John Denver is the 17th Special C recording. In addition to featuring the wonderful songs of John Denver, band members Greg Cahill, Rick Faris, Dustin Benson and Dan Eubanks were joined by numerous bluegrass luminaries that include Dale Ann Bradley, Jason Carter, Michael Cleveland, John Cowan, Rob Ickes, Jim Lauderdale, Claire Lynch, Peter Rowan, Buddy Spicher, Rhonda Vincent and Alison Brown. “Thank God I’m A Country Boy,” performed as an instrumental with the twin fiddles of Buddy Spicher and Michael Cleveland and the twin banjo of Alison Brown, received the 2014 IBMA Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year Award. “Wild Montana Skies,” performed with guest vocalist Claire Lynch and dobro player Rob Ickes, received the 2014 IBMA Recorded Event of the Year Award.
