Memory Of A Free Festival 2
'Memory of a Free Festival' - 16th of September 2014
This is the second festival paying homage to the original Free Festival, organised by David Bowie & the Beckenham Arts Lab 16 August 1969. Last years event was fantastic. Again this year their will be several excellent bands including tributes to David Bowie.
The festival is to raise funds to save the Bandstand on which David Bowie has performed and wrote Life On Mars. This late Victorian Cast Iron Bandstand has historic and sentimental value and is presently in desperate need of restoration. See www.becrec.net/ to go to the Friends of the Park website.
The purpose of the event is to help raise the funds for the bandstand renovations, £5 entrance fee. Also welcome PayPal donations via www.becrec.net/ towards the renovations of the bandstand.
