The Queen's Knickers
Based on the much-loved children’s book by Nicholas Allan, The Queen’s Knickers is a comedy for wise young children about hysterical adults and combines stand-up comedy, clowning, anarchic sketches and songs in a new theatrical adaption for children aged three years and over. This marks the first time that an egg theatre production has toured the UK and will see The Queen’s Knickers visit thirty-three venues across the country.
Celebrating the garments we all wear but never show, the comical story of The Queen’s Knickers has been a favourite with young children and parents since its publication twenty years ago. Based on the much-loved children’s book by Nicholas Allan, this stage production is inventively performed by two actors, Jordan Whyte as the Queen and Keddy Sutton as Dilys, both of whom also play a host of other characters in the show.
Dilys, the Queen's dedicated maid, is the royal custodian of her Majesty's 'intimate apparel', otherwise known as the Queen's Knickers. She guards HRH's smalls as if they were the crown jewels and on no account should the Queen’s subjects ever be allowed so much as a glimpse of these almost mythical garments. But one day the knickers go missing causing a national state of emergency and a diplomatic incident of catastrophic proportions.
Suitable for ages 3+
