Old Aberdeen: Historical Secrets

Revealing the history of Old Aberdeen, the original university town founded in 1495, but with earlier origins based around St Machar Cathedral, Seaton Park and the old estate of Powis.

Featuring Kings College, the hidden Snow Kirk, the two quadrangles, the MacRobert memorial garden, Old Aberdeen Town House (now the university’s museum/exhibition space), and then crossing through the site of the Chanonry Port into the precinct of Aberdon, the 12th century episcopal burgh, run by the bishops. Including the Wallace Tower and perhaps the burgh’s oldest site, the Tillydrone Motte.
